An example of an actual cruising itinerary for a week’s bare boat charter on one of our motor cruisers out of Alcudiamar marina in North Mallorca.

(Airport transfer approx 40mins by taxi or our 10 seater mini bus).

Minimum skippers qualification for bare-boat charter:
RYA Day Skipper with ICC (International Certificate of Competence.)

Arrival Day – Embarkation in the afternoon then after our charter hand-over with a short sea-trial we are free to settle in, get to know the boat and spend an evening at leisure in one of the many local Restaurants or Tapas Bars around the Alcudiamar marina.

Charter Day 1 – Setting off with full tanks, we cruise round the spectacular Formentor peninsular and down the mountainous north coast to the Port of Soller, stopping on the way to see the amazing mouth of the ‘Torrent de Pareis’ where it reaches the sea through a narrow gorge.
(This was the setting for the Ape’s village in the film ‘Planet of the Apes’).
We overnight in the new marina in the natural crescent shaped bay of Soller.

Charter Day 2 – After a relaxing breakfast ashore we set off from Soller and head south towards the old Port of Andraxt, on the way we explore the small picturesque calas of Deia (the famous artist’s village) and Valdemossa. After passing through the ‘Dragonera channel’ (Dragons Island) we anchor for lunch and a swim in the beautiful cala San Telm on the south western tip of the island before reaching Andraxt marina at sundown where we spend an evening in the town.

Charter Day 3 - After a shop in the local market we cruise from Andraxt towards the bay of Palma for a night exploring the city. We call up on channel 9 and Berth for the night in the Real Club Nautic close to the old Cathedral. Later we explore the old quarter with its great variety of tapas restaurants and bars.

Charter Day 4 – After topping up the tanks and leaving the bustling port of Palma behind us we cross Palma bay towards the South Eastern tip of the island heading for the Cabrera archipelago. This is a national marine reserve and completely unspoilt.
Our Charter Company had pre-booked our overnight stay here and we are guided     toward our allocated mooring buoy in the little harbour. After lunch and a swim we go ashore by dinghy to explore the old castle and have sundowners in the bar on the beach.

Charter Day 5 – We leave the tranquillity of Cabrera and cruise up the beautiful East coast stopping in one of the dozens of small Calas for our lunchtime swim. We round the Eastern tip of Capdepera and head for the Port of Pollensa for the evening, mooring on the visitor’s quay in the Yacht Club.
After a swim in the club pool and sundowners at the bar we eat in one of the renowned local fish restaurants.

Charter day 6 – After a late breakfast in the yacht club we head out of Pollenca bay and stop in the anchorage of Formentor to take a long lazy lunch at the famous hotels beach restaurant (a fantastic buffet with fresh fish and meat cooked to order)! After a leisurely afternoon swimming or snorkelling in the crystal clear waters we head back to Alcudiamar marina for the last night of our charter.

Departure Day – An early breakfast after which we pack and hand back the boat to our charter company representative disembarking at 10.30am for our airport transfer.
