BOAT MANAGEMENT SERVICES
Preparing your boat for a visit includes a full interior valet with fresh linen, an exterior clean and a full systems check.
When your boat is not being used we carry out weekly systems checks including monitoring shore power & battery status, checking mooring lines, fenders and covers, especially during stormy weather.
British flagged vessels wishing to operate as charter boats in Spain
require a safety compliance certificate from the MCA (Maritime&
Coastguard Agency) as well as Spanish charter licenses and the appointment
of a local managing agent.
We will prepare your boat for the MCA safety inspection in order
to obtain the safety compliance certificate (SCVC).This process
includes a pre-coding survey, installing additional safety equipment
such as extra fire extinguishers and a liferaft, as well as
upgrading engine room fire protection and producing a safety
manual.
Once your boat has been prepared, we will arrange a professional
surveyor to complete the compliance survey and then send off
for the SCVC (Small Commercial Vessel Certificate).
In addition to the MCA safety certificate the Spanish Authorities
require their own safety compliance survey. We will arrange
for a local Spanish surveyor to complete this at the same time
as the MCA survey takes place.
We will collate all the necessary documentation for the Spanish authorities
to issue the Balearic charter licenses and also apply for the local
port of embarkation license. This will include obtaining legalized
translations where required.
